LIVINGSTON, La. — Today, Larry Davis announced his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District, launching a campaign rooted in faith, family, and service to the community.

A Livingston Parish resident, Davis brings nearly a decade of experience working in community health, public service, and local leadership roles across the region. He has worked directly with families, schools, and community organizations, focusing on public health education, youth programs, and civic engagement.

“Faith in God is indispensable and has always been the guiding principle of our nation, providing both providence and purpose,” Davis said. “From that faith flows the foundation of family, the cornerstone of our identity as a people. Strong, traditional family values build strong communities, and strong communities ensure the growth, stability, and sustainability of our nation. Without faith in God and the strength of family, nothing truly good can be accomplished.”

Davis currently serves in multiple civic and leadership capacities in Livingston Parish, including work related to election integrity, community development, and local nonprofit leadership. He is also a licensed minister, reinforcing what he describes as a lifelong commitment to service, counseling, and principled leadership.

The campaign will officially kick off with a public event at North Park Gym in Livingston Parish on February 7, where Davis will outline his vision for Louisiana’s 5th District and begin building a grassroots campaign focused on local values and community-driven solutions.

“This campaign is coming out of Livingston because it reflects who we are as a district,” Davis said. “Hardworking families, strong faith, and a belief that leadership should start at the local level.”

Louisiana’s 5th District includes rural communities, small towns, and growing regional centers. Davis said his campaign will focus on strengthening families, supporting local communities, promoting economic opportunity, and ensuring the values of North and Central Louisiana are clearly represented in Washington.

“I’m not running to be a career politician,” Davis said. “I’m running to serve, to listen, and to fight for the people who call this district home.”
