The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a grant and selected to participate in small business AI training in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, bringing the Small Business B(AI)sics program to Livingston Parish.

The national initiative, supported by Google, offers free AI training to help small businesses grow, stay competitive, and strengthen local economies.

"When this opportunity came across my desk, I knew it would benefit our small business community," said April Wehrs, Chamber CEO. "The course will start at a 101 level and take businesses from the basics to the next level. We anticipate a strong response. Google trainers will be on hand for the first session and will train our team to deliver the sessions that follow."

The Chamber plans to offer the program to at least 100 small businesses in the area.

The in-person sessions are designed to help entrepreneurs apply AI to real business challenges, including:

  • Improving marketing and customer engagement
  • Streamlining operations and improving workflow efficiency
  • Enhancing productivity and decision-making

The training is an opportunity to explore how AI can help business owners save time, reach more customers, and build a stronger, more resilient business.

The first session begins Thursday, July 30, and space is limited.

Date: Thursday, July 30
Time: 3 to 5 p.m.
Location: Literacy & Technology Center, Walker
