Each year, Acadian Ambulance recognizes its exceptional EMS personnel for their tireless work ethic and dedication. From across the company’s four-state service area, 32 finalists were nominated by their peers for displaying exemplary attitudes and providing excellent patient care. The top winners are selected by a company-wide committee.
Acadian Ambulance will honor its top Medics of the Year, all regional honorees, and its entire medical team at its celebration on May 9 in Lafayette, LA.
Kaydee Kidder, EMT represents the company’s Capital Region service area as EMT of the year.
Kaydee Kidder, EMT
Raised in Baton Rouge, Kaydee initially pursued nursing but shifted her focus to EMS after caring for her mother during her battle with cancer. This experience revealed her true calling to become a first responder.
In July 2022, she began EMT school at the National EMS Academy, and within a year and a half, joined Acadian Ambulance in Livingston Parish.
Kaydee’s approach to patient care is compassionate and professional, offering emotional support and exceptional service. Her connection to EMS, having witnessed its impact on her mother and grandfather in their final moments, fuels her dedication. These experiences inspired her to deepen her knowledge and continue the mission of saving lives.
She now mentors new hires as a Field Training Officer, helping them navigate the challenges of the job with encouragement and empathy.
Currently in paramedic school and graduating in July, Kaydee continues to expand her expertise in emergency prehospital care. Her unwavering commitment to advancing in the EMS field and her passion for serving others make her an invaluable asset to the team.
