Several Livingston Parish government officials have announced their endorsement of state Sen. Rick Edmonds in the race for Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District.

Edmonds qualified for the Nov. 3 election on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Livingston Parish officials endorsing Edmonds include:

  • Parish President Randy Delatte
  • Sheriff Jason Ard
  • Assessor Jeff Taylor
  • Denham Springs Mayor Gerard Landry
  • Livingston Mayor Jonathan “JT” Taylor
  • Albany Mayor Eileen McCarroll
  • Springfield Mayor Tracy Bryson
  • Killian Mayor Kaleb Atwell

“I am proud to endorse Sen. Rick Edmonds as my choice for Congressman. He is already representing Livingston Parish at the state level. We now need him to do it in Washington, D.C.,” Delatte said.

“He is the only proven local leader in this race who will prioritize the needs of our district,” Delatte added.

“Rick has been a solid supporter of law enforcement, and he has worked hard for victims’ rights in our State Legislature. He is someone we can trust to protect our values in Washington, D.C., to ensure our communities remain safe. I wholeheartedly endorse Rick Edmonds to be our next Congressman,” Ard said.

“Rick is a man of strong virtue and character. We need that more than ever in our nation’s capital. Rick will be a solid vote for conservative, Christian values; but more than that, he has proven he will look out for Livingston Parish’s needs and concerns. He will fight for us,” Taylor said.

Edmonds expressed gratitude for the endorsements.

“I am deeply honored and humbled by the incredible show of support from these respected leaders. Livingston Parish families deserve a congressman who will fight for lower inflation, secure borders, and economic growth. I am humbled and honored by their trust in me to be their advocate for District 6,” Edmonds said.

The election for Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District will be held Nov. 3. Early voting is scheduled for Oct. 20-27.
