Na’Chel Shannon has resigned as Livingston Parish Library director, effective immediately, the Livingston Parish Library announced Thursday, May 5.
“Na’Chel Shannon officially submitted her resignation this week,” said Jonathan Davis, president of the Livingston Parish Library Board of Control. “We are grateful for Na’Chel’s contributions, and we wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors.”
Dustin Cotton and Julia Falcon will serve as acting co-directors until the Board of Control appoints an interim director. Cotton currently serves as assistant director of branch services, while Falcon serves as assistant director of support services.
“Dustin and Julia have a combined 30 years of experience in the Livingston Parish Library and know the ins and outs of this system,” Davis said. “We believe in their ability to lead the library on a temporary basis to ensure that we continue to provide high-quality services to the people of Livingston Parish.”
The next regular meeting for the Livingston Parish Library Board of Control will be held on Tuesday, March 17. At that meeting, the board will discuss appointing an interim director to oversee library operations during the search for a new director.
