DENHAM SPRINGS, La. - The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has filed an additional 57 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles against 31-year-old Denham Springs resident Kevin Hamby.
Hamby was initially arrested in May after an ICAC investigation into online illicit behavior linked to minors. At that time, he faced two felony counts: indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor. According to Sheriff Jason Ard, subsequent forensic analysis of Hamby’s digital devices uncovered evidence of materials involving children under the age of 13.
Hamby was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on all 57 new counts and remains in custody. Those wishing to track the case or Hamby's current status can access details via the LPSO’s “Who’s in Jail” feature on their mobile app.
As part of the larger ICAC operation conducted in March and April, the task force—working with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations, Homeland Security Investigations, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Covington Police Department, and Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office—carried out investigations into nine separate individuals. Hamby was among those arrested during the early phase, along with eight others.
In total, nine suspects were previously arrested on charges of indecent behavior with juveniles and computer-aided solicitation. Some involved additional charges related to substances and contributing to juvenile delinquency, per the Sheriff’s Office.
The ongoing investigation underscores the ICAC Task Force’s efforts to identify and prosecute individuals exploiting social media platforms to target minors. The sheriff’s office encourages public vigilance and urges residents to report suspicious online activity involving children.
