LIVINGSTON, La. — A 69-year-old Livingston Parish man has been sentenced to spend much of the remainder of his life behind bars after he pleaded guilty to a series of sexual crimes involving juveniles.
21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux reports that on December 8, 2025, Thomas Mauldin, 69, appeared before Judge William Scott Dykes and pleaded guilty to aggravated crimes against nature, two counts of second-degree rape, sexual battery, and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
With the defendant pleading guilty to the charges, the victims were spared the trauma of having to testify and sit through the trial, Perrilloux said.
The case stems from incidents that took place between January 2013 and December 2015.
Assistant District Attorney Amanda Liotto prosecuted the case on behalf of the District Attorney's Office. Liotto successfully secured a 20-year sentence for the defendant, who will be required to register as a sex offender for life, never contact his victims, and submit to chemical castration prior to release, in the event he is able to complete the 20-year jail sentence.
Perrilloux also offered his appreciation to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office who investigated the case and to Assistant District Attorney Brad Cascio, who handled the initial prosecution on this case until he transferred to the District Attorney’s office in Tangipahoa Parish.
