Livingston Parish youth invited to join 4-H and discover new opportunities

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA – Students across Livingston Parish have the opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, serve their communities, and have fun through membership in the Livingston Parish 4-H Youth Development Program.

4-H is the nation's largest youth development organization, helping young people develop leadership, citizenship, and life skills through hands-on learning experiences. In Livingston Parish, 4-H members participate in a wide variety of activities including livestock projects, cooking, shooting sports, outdoor adventures, sewing, public speaking, STEM projects, leadership events, community service, and more.

Open to youth in grades 4-12, 4-H provides opportunities for members to explore their interests while building confidence and preparing for future success. Through club meetings, contests, camps, workshops, and service projects, members gain valuable experiences that help them become responsible and productive citizens.

"4-H gives young people the chance to learn by doing," said local 4-H leaders. "Whether a member is interested in agriculture, science, leadership, healthy living, or the arts, there is a place for everyone in 4-H."

One of the highlights of the year is participation in parish, regional, and state events where members can showcase their talents, compete in contests, and meet other youth from across Louisiana. Members also have the opportunity to attend 4-H Camp, leadership conferences, and educational programs throughout the year.
