The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division has seized approximately 361 pounds of methamphetamine in what officials describe as the largest drug seizure in the agency’s history and one of the largest in Louisiana.

According to LPSO, the estimated street value of the methamphetamine is approximately $4 million.

Also seized were two digital weighing scales and packaging materials, $7,155 in U.S. currency pending seizure, and a 2017 Jaguar XE pending seizure.

Two men described by authorities as removable from the United States are in LPSO custody. Both were indicted Tuesday by the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana:

• Jostin Antonio Orellana-Romero, 22, of Honduras
• Edenilson Alexander Castaneda-Del Valle, 18, of El Salvador

Sheriff Jason Ard joined U.S. Attorney Kurt Wall and Homeland Security Investigations Assistant Special Agent in Charge Adam Parks at a press conference Tuesday to discuss the recent traffic stop that led to the discovery of the large-scale drug trafficking operation.

LPSO credited its K9 Division, Uniform Patrol Division, Homeland Security Investigations, Houston Police Department HIDTA, Splendora Police Department in Texas, and the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office SID for assisting in the case.
