PRAIRIEVILLE, La. — The beloved Newsong Community Church Pumpkin Patch returns Monday, September 28, offering families a month of fall fun while supporting local and global missions. The Pumpkin Patch is located at 18465 Old Perkins Road in Prairieville and will be open seven days a week throughout October.
Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Visitors will find pumpkins and gourds of every shape and size, grown by Navajo farmers in northern New Mexico, along with jellies and salsas from the Methodist Children's Home and collectible Pumpkin Patch t-shirts.
The Pumpkin Patch offers much more than pumpkins. Families can enjoy a giant tractor tire sandbox, cornhole, themed games, photo opportunities (please note that professional paid photography is not permitted), a covered pavilion with picnic tables, and free hayrides every weekend.
Morning field trips for schools, daycares, and homeschool groups are also available and include a hayride, a craft, and a pie-sized pumpkin for each child. Registration information is available on the church website.
Every purchase helps make a difference! All proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch support Newsong Community Church's mission efforts, including ministries within the church, outreach throughout the local community, and international missions such as the Association of Living Water, Christ Healing Food Pantry, Angel Tree, Open Air Ministries, Operation Christmas Child, and other outreach initiatives.
The church will also host its annual free Fall Festival on Saturday, October 31, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. The community is invited to enjoy live music, free jambalaya, an artisan market, youth bake sale, face painting, inflatables, games, crafts, and fun for all ages.
