BATON ROUGE – Red Magnolia Theatre Company will present Little Women, newly adapted by Heather Chrisler, March 28-30 and April 4-6 in The Studio at TBR, 7155 Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
Featuring Arden Hale, Alyx Johnson, Madalyn Mullins and Courtney Murphy, this production explores a more intimate side of the beloved sisters with the actors playing multiple roles. Through a sense of imaginary play in their attic, Jo and her sisters create, dream, and ultimately grow as women.
“I am beyond excited to bring the beloved story of Little Women to life with this fresh adaptation that is short, sweet, and uniquely dynamic with all the same heart and sincerity of the story we all know and love. We reimagine the story of the March sisters and their journey to independence, sacrifice, and unconditional love,” says director Makaylee Secrest.
Red Magnolia board member Jennifer Ellis adds, “This production continues to advance our organization’s mission of elevating female voices through theatre and creative collaboration. The production is giving women in the community the opportunity to explore their creativity in set, costume, technical, and props design as well as directing, stage management, and marketing.”
Tickets are general admission $35.00; senior citizens $30.00; and students $25.00.
