Louisiana State Senator Beth Mizell has endorsed U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy for reelection, praising his conservative record and effectiveness in delivering results for the state.
Mizell, who represents St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes, chairs the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus and serves as chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, and International Affairs.
"Senator Bill Cassidy has consistently delivered for the parishes of Tangipahoa, Washington, and St. Tammany, along with the rest of Louisiana," Mizell said in her endorsement statement. "He's a proven conservative who never forgets who he's fighting for in D.C."
The state senator highlighted Cassidy's responsiveness to local concerns, saying he "has listened to the questions and issues of our communities and brought real answers and solutions. I know who I can call that will provide help for my constituents."
Cassidy welcomed the endorsement, emphasizing their shared focus on rural Louisiana issues.
"Senator Mizell and I work so that rural Louisiana does better. I'm honored to stand together to win for our state," Cassidy said.
Mizell brings significant political credentials to the endorsement. She served as President Pro Tempore of the Louisiana Senate during her first term and was endorsed by the Republican Parish Executive Committee and the Louisiana Committee for a Conservative Majority in 2023.
In addition to her committee leadership roles, Mizell serves on several key committees including Education, Judiciary A, Revenue and Fiscal Affairs, and Insurance. She also participates in multiple caucuses and delegations, including the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation and Louisiana Rural Caucus.
The endorsement adds to Cassidy's support as he seeks reelection to represent Louisiana in the U.S. Senate.
