Suburban Reviewers enjoy Louisiana themed luncheon

Posted

It was no “April Fools” when thirty members of The Suburban Reviewers gathered at St. Francis Episcopal Church Parish Hall on April 1st for their book club meeting.

Gray skies and the threat of rain did not dampen the enthusiasm as members enjoyed a Louisiana cuisine themed meal hosted by Ann Harris, Jennifer Miller, Alice Pittman, Janie Rainey, Lisa Waldrep, and Kitty Wells.  Tables reflected the theme with centerpieces showcasing Louisiana’s seafood bounty, including cast nets, graniteware boiling pots, local seasonings, and crabs, shrimp, crawfish, and even a very large bullfrog we named “Jeremiah”.

Following a brief business meeting, incoming officers for the 2026-2027 year were recognized: President: Earline Sceroler, Vice-President: Angela Mashon, Secretary: Carolyn Ott, Treasurer: Sharman Rainey and Parliamentarian-Nelda Dendinger.

Accolades were given to the Special Events Committee: Kenna Karnish, Angela Mashon, and Judith Nesom for their outstanding creative planning this year.  And also to our wonderful Club Librarian Paula Kelly.

Members departed the meeting looking forward to the spring outing which will be a May 6th trip to New Orleans to tour the Cabildo Museum and dine in one of the city’s fabulous restaurants.
