The Suburban Reviewers’ Christmas celebration "Sparkle and Shine" took place Dec 3rd at L’Auberge’s Club 38 overlooking the Mississippi River. New member Jenny Bauer was welcomed into the club, as thirty-three members gathered for fun and fellowship including lunch and a gift giving/stealing extravaganza. Members were also gifted beautiful Christmas wreath pins. Books were collected for donation to the children of Livingston Parish.
An amazing slide show featuring photos and news clippings from the club's 60 year history was one of the highlights of the day.
The Acadiana Crooner, Marco Savvy delighted us with his performance of holiday classics and nostalgic oldies and this led to an unforgettable tango demonstration by two members who claimed they learned it from a book.
The grand finale featured member Myra Peak playing a beautiful arrangement of O Holy Night on keyboard followed by singing Christmas carols.
Members thoroughly enjoyed the festivities of the day orchestrated by Special Events Committee: Chair Angela Mashon, Kenna Karnish and Judith Nesom.
The next meeting will take place January 14th.
