Track state championships start May 2

High school track/field fans and athletes are headed to Bernie Moore Stadium on the campus of LSU for the state meet that takes place May 2-4 and Livingston Parish has people competing each day.

On May 2, Classes B, C and 1A compete.

Holden and Maurepas are in Class B.

The next day features Classes 2A and 3A.

Livington Parish athletes competing that day are from French Settlement in 2A and Albany and Doyle in 3A.

The final day has Classes 5A and 4A.

Three local schools in Class 5A are Denham Springs, Live Oak and Walker.

In order to qualify for state, athletes needed to come in the top four of their event in the district meet. That sent them to regional where they needed to be in the top three to make it to state.
