WALKER, La. — A Walker man has been arrested following an investigation into a cyber tip involving child pornography, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO).
Sheriff Jason Ard said the investigation began with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office before being forwarded to Livingston Parish. Detectives with the LPSO Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force — with help from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation — identified 28-year-old Thomas Ross Stevens as the suspect.
A search warrant led investigators to multiple items of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) depicting children under the age of 13, including toddlers, the sheriff said.
Stevens was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on 18 counts of LRS 14:81.1 – Child Sexual Abuse Materials.
Ard reminded parents to monitor their children’s online activity and encouraged community members to contact the ICAC Task Force for free educational presentations on internet safety by calling 225-435-1365.
