Livingston Parish paramedic Kate Pringle honored as Acadian Ambulance Capital Region Paramedic of the year

Each year, Acadian Ambulance recognizes its exceptional EMS personnel for their tireless work ethic and dedication. From across the company’s four-state service area, 32 finalists were nominated by their peers for displaying exemplary attitudes and providing excellent patient care. The top winners are selected by a company-wide committee.  
 
Acadian Ambulance will honor its top Medics of the Year, all regional honorees, and its entire medical team at its celebration on May 9 in Lafayette, LA. 
 
Paramedic Kate Pringle represent the company’s Capital Region service area as paramedic of the year. 
 
Acadian Ambulance has operated in the Capital Region since 1981, when it began serving in Pointe Coupee Parish. The company has nearly 400 employees in the region, which encompasses Pointe Coupee, East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Livingston, Iberville and Ascension parishes. 
 
Kate Pringle, Paramedic 
Kate is a dedicated professional with a passion for helping others and embodies the qualities of an exceptional paramedic. Originally from England and raised in Australia, Kate’s experiences in diverse environments have shaped her unique approach to emergency medical services. 
 
After high school, Kate was inspired to become a paramedic after witnessing a paramedic team in action during an emergency scene. The crew’s teamwork and quick, life-saving decisions ignited her passion for pre-hospital care, leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Paramedic Science at Flinders University in South Australia. 
 
For the past three years, Kate has served in Louisiana, making remarkable contributions to the team and community. In addition to her role as a paramedic in Livingston Parish, she holds her Critical Care Transport (CCT) and Field Training Officer (FTO) certifications, and serves on the Critical Stress Incident (CSI) peer support team. Kate also supports the profession as an adjunct for the National EMS Academy and as a recruiter for specialized initiatives. 
 
Currently working toward earning her Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) certification, Kate aspires to become a flight paramedic.
