The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office celebrated the official unveiling of its new, state-of-the-art training facility on Thursday, June 1.

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said the new facility, which priced at just under $6 million, has been in the works for years. Construction began in 2021, and the facility officially opened last fall.

“I’m so excited for us to have this facility,” Ard said.

Numerous officials attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, including Livingston Parish Council members Jeff Ard, Scooter Keen, and Garry Talbert; Walker Mayor Jimmy Waston; Livingston Mayor J.T. Taylor; Denham Springs Police Chief Rodney Walker; Walker Police Chief David Addison; and Livingston Police Chief Randy Dufrene, among others.

Ard spoke during the ceremony, as well as Captain Hayden Brown and former Sheriff Willie Graves.

The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce assisted with the ceremony.
