The Livingston Parish Library would like to congratulate Christopher Gruntz on completing the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge, an early-literacy program that challenges parents and caregivers to read 1,000 books aloud to children ages 0–5 before they start school.
Research shows this early exposure builds vocabulary and listening skills during a critical window for brain development. Along with developing critical early learning skills, this reading challenge also helps foster a love for reading and encourages quality family time!
