Come visit Old City Hall in Denham Springs to see the exhibit about the Old South Jamboree music venue and take a stroll down memory lane. The Old South Jamboree opened in Walker in 1969 and provided weekly live country music entertainment until March 2020.
Top stars and others who went on to become some of the greatest country music stars performed there, including Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Jerry lee Lewis, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, Jr., George Jones, Ronnie McDowell, Faron Young, Mel Tillis, Porter Wagoner, Marty Robbins, and many others.
City of Denham Springs will host the exhibit and will celebrate with a grand opening on Saturday, September 19, with Councilwoman Lori Lamm Williams welcoming visitors at 10:30 am, a tour of the exhibit, followed by music by Carlton Jones and His Red Hot Country Pickers. They were frequent performers at the Jamboree. Refreshments will be served. We would like to thank Robert Reynolds for this fabulous exhibit.
