South Park Trunk or Treat brings community together

Families, local businesses, and neighbors filled South Park for its annual Trunk or Treat, enjoying decorated trunks, costumes, candy, and free hot dogs and drinks.

PARDS and Livingston Parish Council Member Erin Sandefur celebrated the turnout in Facebook posts, thanking volunteers, donors, and participating families for making the event a success. The tradition began in 2016 with Bubba Harris, according to Sandefur.

“At the end of the day, it’s the smiles on those children’s faces that make every bit of it worthwhile,” Sandefur wrote.

PARDS recognized Sandefur, Waste Management, and Fire District 5 for their support, along with everyone who volunteered, decorated a trunk, or contributed time and resources. Rusti & Ray Photography also received thanks for capturing drone photos of the festivities.
Sandefur praised the community’s willingness to come together for local families.

“I’m so proud of the community we call home,” she wrote. “This is the heart of Livingston Parish, and it’s what makes LP so special!”
